Elk Calves in Great Smoky Mountains NP

Late May through early June marks the time when Elk calves are born throughout Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The National Park Service monitors the elk and their young in order to ensure the long term survivability of herds within the park. This video details some of the efforts, as well as some of the rules to ensure long term survivability of the herds.
